Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have announced the manes of their two little bundles of joy to the world. Typically for Mariah, we were teased with a hint yesterday, when it was announced that both names start with an 'M'...M for Mariah. Of course.
So, drumroll please......welcome to the world babies Monroe Cannon and Moroccan Scott Cannon!
Morrocan is named for the country in which Nick proposed to Mariah, and also for the top level of Mariah's Manhatten penthouse, whch is called 'The Moroccan Room'. The couple will refer to their son as Roc for short. Scott is both Nick's middle name and his grandmother's maiden name, which is a fairly standard convention for a lot of families to follow.
Monroe is named for Marilyn Monroe, who Mariah says has always been an inspiration to her. Like Mariah (and me), Monroe has no middle name; one is enough for those amongst us who have that special appeal...
